My Favorite Cafes and Coffee Shops in the Cowichan Valley
Stopping in or driving through the Cowichan Valley, stop in at some of the best cafes and coffee shops on the island! Included are locations, links, and my favorite drinks and snacks.
Duncan,
Brunch on 3rd –

148 Third Street Duncan B.C.
Brunch on 3rd is a cute café/ restaurant located in the middle of Duncan. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and walk around Duncan or go for a hike. My favorite dish is the “Petite Appetite Delight”. It’s the perfect size for a petite traveler!
PETITE- APPETITE DELIGHT
1 piece of bacon, ham, or sausage, 1 egg, hashbrowns with fresh salsa and a piece of house toast /10.5
Chocolate Pearl-
Chocolatepearl.ca
133 Craig St, Duncan B.C.
V9L 1m8
Chocolate Pearl is one of my all-time favorite chocolate shops and coffee shops. They have a beautiful area of freshly made chocolates and lovely dark, rich hot chocolate. Their location makes them the perfect pre-farmer market stop. So, if you're coming through on a Saturday definitely check them out. Their lavender chocolates are my favorites.
Duncan Garage-
330 Duncan Street Unite 201, Duncan B.C.
V9L 3W4
The Duncan Garage is a cute little community-based café in the center of Duncan. Known for their wide selection of organic, GF and Vegan options. With indoor and outdoor seating, and often live music nearby in the summer. My go to snack at the Duncan Garage is their veggie roll for $2.50.
Glenora
Alderlea Farm Café
Alderleafarm.com
3390 Glenora Rd, Glenora B.C.
V9L 6S1
Glenora is one of the highlights of the Cowichan Valley, once you’ve taken a drive around Glenora your heart will be sold, and it will keep you wanting to come back! Now, time to eat! Stop in at Alderlea Farm Café for probably the best meal ever, my hands down favorite is the wood oven pizza, try Alderlea Chicken Pizza. Fresh from the wood oven, with fresh farm produce. For only $22.
Cowichan Bay (Cow Bay)
The Vine-
1765 Cowichan Bay Rd, Cowichan Bay, B.C.
V0R 1N0
The Vine is a restaurant/ Café located right on the water with a spectacular view of the house boats in the bay. It is in the perfect location to grab breakfast, and walk along the road, and look at the shops. Or walk the docks and look for sea creatures. My favorite is the 4Berry crepe, with whipped cream cheese and fresh berry filling, raspberry coulis.
True Grain-
1725B Cowichan Bay Rd, Cowichan Bay B.C
V0R 1N0
True Grain is one of many of Cowichans Bay gems. With fresh delicious baked goods every day, it's hard to resist! Located right on the water, you can go in and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and a treat, while soaking in the view. While you're there, try my personal favorite, a ginger snap.
